Nowadays, you need a vignette to dock a boat on the Amsterdam Pride route. You can rent a boat for the entire day during Gay Pride Amsterdam 2024 from Canal Motorboats. We will assign you a designated zone where you can dock the boat during the Gay Pride Amsterdam. Note: The regular cancellation conditions do not apply during Gay Pride. Sailing on your own during Amsterdam Gay Pride

• You can sail on your own, no boating license required
• You rent a boat for the entire day from approximately 09:00 to 18:00
• The exact time for picking up the boat will be announced later
• Fixed low rate of €399

Rent a private boat with a captain during Amsterdam Gay Pride

Prefer not to sail on your own but enjoy the party on a private boat with a captain and space for 30 people? Then rent the IJdok.

• The price includes an open bar with options for beer, wine, and soft drinks.
• Note: food is not included. We will not provide food. You are welcome to bring your own.
• You get a private captain, so no need for a designated driver.
• Boarding is possible from 10:00, and it lasts until approximately 18:00

Rules for renting a boat during Gay Pride Amsterdam

During Gay Pride Amsterdam, the canals are filled with boats and hundreds of thousands of visitors. This means that at 6pm the canals and streets no longer look as tidy as they did before. We believe that celebrating should not be an excuse for anti-social behaviour. Therefore, we would like to remind you of the rules.

• Do not throw rubbish overboard into the water or on the dock. There is a special waste service where you can dispose of your waste.
• Do not play music! On the canals, music is played on high quality sound systems. Your tunes are therefore not only unnecessary but also prohibited.
• The captain must stay sober. So decide in advance who will steer the boat.
• Do not throw water or other stuff at the parade boats.
• You may not swim or jump into the water.
• Do not enter houseboats without permission of the owner.
• Drink in moderation, it’s a long day.
• Put on your wildest outfit! It would be a shame to leave it hanging in the closet any longer.

The Amsterdam Gay Pride, or also known as Canal Parade, is on August 3th 2024. On this day you can rent a boat in Amsterdam and watch the Canal Parade from your own private boat on the Prinsengracht. This is the day when everyone dressed up in their most outrageous outfit along the Prinsengracht canal can celebrate abundantly, that love is for everyone!
